As part of the 5 Communities, 5 Weeks challenge, I am excited to introduce PuroMMA.com, a Spanish-language community dedicated to authentic, unfiltered, and deeply analytical coverage of mixed martial arts. And just in time for UFC 312 too!
I’ve been a huge MMA fan for over 20 years. From the early days of watching PRIDE and Shooto fights to Strikeforce, Bellator and KOG, and on to modern era UFC, my passion for the sport has only grown. Over the years, I’ve also been lucky enough to call some of the people deeply involved in the sport—fighters, trainers, and journalists—my friends.
One thing I’ve realized while on this project is that people rarely see the work behind the scenes, so I want to start unveiling a bit of what goes into these projects.
This week, a significant part of the time was spent building an automated system that collects relevant news, filters and prioritizes key stories, rewrites them in PuroMMA’s editorial style, and publishes them automatically—without requiring any daily intervention. Given that I have no coding experience, this was a major challenge, but now, it’s a fully functional system. In theory, it means PuroMMA.com will be updated forever, keeping fans informed with high-quality, curated MMA content—without anyone having to touch a single post.
I also built a fight prediction system, so when you see today’s post for this weekend’s fights, know that I used AI to collect information, analyze matchups, and generate previews and embedded predictions. So, hello automated prediction content 🙂
What’s Live on PuroMMA.com
Beyond automation, PuroMMA is about building a real resource for the MMA community. Here’s what’s already live:
- Curated MMA News & Fight Analysis – A constantly updated feed of the most relevant stories, rewritten with a fresh perspective.
- Fighter Profiles – Covering both legends and rising stars with in-depth analysis.
- Technique Deep Dives – A breakdown of striking, grappling, and fight strategies for both fans and practitioners.
- Fight Predictions – AI-generated fight previews that analyze upcoming bouts.
- MMA Gear & Product Reviews – Honest takes on the best equipment in the fight world.
- Directory of Training Academies – Initially focused on Spain, this will help fighters and enthusiasts find the best places to train.
Social Media & Automation
Our social media channels are up and will be posting content across platforms. Most of it runs on automation, but I’m still fine-tuning things—especially automated Reels and Stories on Instagram, which is key for this project.
Tools Behind PuroMMA
To make all of this happen, I’ve combined multiple technologies, the stars of the week were:
- Automation – Handling content extraction, filtering, and scheduling.
- AI Content Rewriting – Ensuring every piece of content has its own voice and follows PuroMMA’s tone of voice.
- SEO Optimization Tools – Maximizing discoverability and long-term growth.
- Scraping Tools – Collecting data for product reviews, gym listings, fighters records and fight results.
Week 3 Done – Past the Halfway Point
This has been one of the most challenging but also most exciting weeks in the 5 Communities, 5 Weeks project. PuroMMA isn’t just about content—it’s about building a real, long-lasting resource for Spanish-speaking fight fans.
Check it out at PuroMMA.com. Week 3 is live. Let’s keep going.
PS: Before launching PuroMMA.com, I kicked off the 5 Communities, 5 Weeks project with two other communities:
- TriboPet.pt – A Portuguese-language community for pet lovers, focused on responsible pet ownership, playdates, and user-driven recommendations for veterinarians, trainers, and pet services.
- ComSpor.com – A deep-dive sports community exploring the business, strategy, and marketing behind the games we love, with articles and AI-generated podcasts on major sporting trends.
Now, with PuroMMA.com, we bring hardcore MMA coverage into the mix. Three communities down, two to go. Let’s keep building!
